Cycling in Chic Hats…Italian Style

I go on a bike tourney every year during warm weather months, visiting Italy’s most renown cities of art, beautiful lakes, regional cooking and you will find me always wearing a chic piece of headwear.

Since in Milan, bicycling is primarily for daily, utilitarian purposes such as the trip to school (with kids and babe), work (wearing state-of-the-art sport fashion or latest couture handbag with shoulder strap, shopping (wearing heels 17 cm./7 inches high of course!), or visiting friends (for Happy Hour) as well as business School/church/doctor visits. Therefore being a “cyclist” too, I designed a micro hat collection of three styles to wear while chic cycling you cannot live without.

This design is from my Lady Fedora line; well known for featuring refined, sensuous and tailored forms with modern lines.

Fiore sul fond Blanco, is a floral fantasy in popping colours on a white background, Made in Italy in 100% carded cotton.

Metropolitan chic L’Animalier.

Completely hand made in parisisal straw with a connected sun visor.

Lavishly draped in leopard print silk georgette in colours of acid green and black. This summer exaggerate with grit while cycling in any urban jungle.

This design, The Envelope Fedora is from my anthology collection I created in the 80’s, while working on 7th Avenue in New York as a clothing hat designer.

Classic yet current and never fails to look down right amazing. Made in Italy completely by hand only, in natural coloured parisisal straw and finished with a hand-tooled horn button.

What will be your Hatitude this summer?
