Veiled Perfumed Flowers Blooming in My vintage Style Garden and April Showers.

“Life is not a highway scattered with flowers, still it holds a goodly share of bliss”…

In the presence of new and very important challenges that will require lots of resilience, I initiated earlier this season “New beginnings” that brings me in some way to come into contact with my psychic impressions. Have you ever experienced this in your life before? If so, please let’s share our experiences!

With conviction and poetic expression, I created a daydream headwear collection composed of soft flowery roses blooming in my vintage style garden, which tells a story...and that led the way to developing and writing a short story-tale book! Let me share with you only an excerpt for now…

“In my vintage style garden, enthusiastically flying among veiled perfumed flowers blooming in the summers breeze, as golden sunshine filters through leaves, they know best how to mingle with nature’s music, in the midst of tiny whispers composing their cheery songs of glee”.

At this time, I will love to introduce you to the first of a series, of a new headwear collection designed by me called, “Veiled Perfume Roses”. Try view ing through blue-tinted glasses, you'll see a headband made of black embroidered lace and tiny rosettes enfolded in the same lace, embellished with an assemblage of azure blue roses made of silk organza, envelop with black veiling and soft feathery feathers. Can you picture and see in your mind’s eye, a dreamy event to wear this enchanting headband to!

Affirming my love and passion for nature, flowers…..I am teaching myself how to make roses. So, you will see lots & lots of flowery assemblage this season. First I compose the arrangement, then choose selected, noble and precious fabric, colour and accessories. After that, with my own hands I proceed with my anew-psychic impression. This involves a detail study of the evolution of flower during the blooming stage. Bringing you even closer to the real beauty and learning how incredible nature is….

Wishing you April showers and indeed it has been raining for weeks here in northern Italy. Again wishing you beautiful new beginnings too. I believe this is the true essence of spring, don’t you?
Life is not a highway strewn with flowers,
Still it holds a goodly share of bliss,
When the sun gives way to April showers,
Here is the point you should never miss.
Though April showers may come your way,
They bring the flowers that bloom in May.
So if it's raining, have no regrets,
Because it isn't raining rain, you know,
It's raining violets,
And where you see clouds upon the hills,
You soon will see crowds of daffodils,
So keep on looking for a blue bird,
And listening for his song,
Whenever April showers come along.

What's Your Hatitude?

A hatitude is your chosen headwear style that turns-you-out into a fierce hat wearer. Any style(s) can do! Chose a mini satin Top Hat, Fedora, Trilby, Sailors, Boaters, Profiles or Fascinators. That is to say, any style of hat that shakes up your personal style is your hatitude.

As I love wearing a stylish Fedora or you’ll find me probably showing off in a fabulous turban and head wraps.

With this post I will like to share with you my love for African inspired head wraps. Yes, that’s OK you can do it! With a little practice you will be on the way to looking fabulously chic. From the Parisian quarters of Chateau Rouge in Senegal to the USA, African and Afro American fashion designers are leading the way with a strong influence of traditional sub-Saharan textile patterns and fabrics.

They are tapping into their African recourses of their generation, by means of using traditional tribal African fabrics and patterns in their clothing collections, and have become the real players of a new emerging global fashion force that is influencing some of the most prestious fashion houses in the world such as; Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Diane Furstenberg, Yves Saint Laurent and cult store H&M.

Start expressing your hatitude by wearing a stunning head wrap, head tie, turban, translating your personal style into expressions of femininity. So, all together now, select a fabulous piece of fabric or even better an African print rich of colour and express your new hatitude with a head wrap. Just wrap it! Amazingly powerful really!

Did you known in many African societies, head wraps and turbans are known for their excellence, colour, expression of wealth and a symbol of social hierarchy.

My turban, head wrap and hat collection I designed exclusively for Willie Wear, New York.

Here we are on location in Dakar, with my collection of head wraps, turbans and hats worn by beautiful professional models originally from Senegal, being filmed in a fashion show documentary for Willi Wear Collection . It was presented as a featured film in a New York theatre, during fashion week.

LOVE IS...

Love is, an action verb, a whole series of actions, and concrete expressions of creative, inventive and sharing initiatives.

Love is, capturing and exchanging a moment with my cat, when he sends me kisses with 1-2-3-eye blinks, while I am dashing out the door to catch a flight; Love is, keeping that “inner” monster calm by having more compassion with myself.

Love is, to forgive, getting out of my comfort zone and trying to understand the other persons point-of-view. We both can be right. Right! Love is, adding an extra ingredient called, enthusiasm, when making a tomato sauce to serve for my love ones for dinner tonight.

Cupid, is a symbol of earthly love. It was very fashionable in the mid-sixteenth century, and forever used in the making of sentimental jewels, set with gems as well as designed with traditional motifs, illustrating them with mottos in both English and French. Cupid as cherub are used by hair weaving manufacturers for creating bows, forming into a true-lover knot and hearts, signifying devotion.

When I created my brand name Love Accents, I also needed a symbol that would represent my philosophy, and to hold true to, throughout the process of my work. My research for inspirations was everlasting never ending…just endless. I read books,research the net. I have work many years in creating millinery and fashion accessoriesused for new product launches for national and international companies just using three adjectives;
This is my logo and a version of my sew-in label.

As for Love Accents, my difficulty at first, was finding the ONE imagine, that represents everything in my world. That’s to say, it was essential for a timeless symbol that I would love for it’s aesthetics and design value, to accentuate everyday life, a symbol that expresses my love and passion for the art-of-hat-making and can best define, Love Accents.

Love Accents means, looking for the best in everyone. It is the daily choices I make to honor others and myself with thoughtful reflection and application that, accentuates everyday life. My daily work, what I do and how it is done does facilitate and express practical, genuine love, for whom I meet, work and especially for those who receive my finished product...the final recipient of my work.

Have a wonderful Saint Valentine’s Day.

Ps. Here in Italy, we are having a real Siberian winter!

12 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT ME.

With thoughtful thoughts of starting off 2012 sharing with you some things about me and if you want to play along use my template questionnaire and leave your answers to these 12 questions in a comment or on your own blog. I would love hearing from you...
1. I am an original...
New Yorker
2. Because I do what I do...
After my studies in fashion design, I transferred to Italy, attracted to"Made in Italy", a symbol of quality, tradition and craftsmanship. I work in creative product design, an executive technical expert in manufacturing techniques and as fashion designer of cashmere outerwear and furs. For over two decades I have worked in cities like New York, Paris, Rome, Florence and Milan.
3. Why do it?
As a skilled hat designer, my love and passion for The-art-of-hat-making, thorough study in millinery arts and refinement of my craft, gave me imperative work opportunities to create millinery and fashion accessories used for new product launches for national and international fashion and cosmetic companies distributed in Europe, Japan and United States.
4. I balance...
work, family, pets and friends by giving everyone alike importance with equal time.
5. I Confess!...(share an embarrassing situation.)
(One) my most embarrassing moments happen while I was a ballroom dancing. My gorgeous vintage dress split right down the side while I was dancing the Tango. And yet, the split was so perfect.
6. My favorite film...
and the winner is...The Artist.
7. My best hat style is...
The Fedora. I just love it! It’s easy to wear and sooo stylish with almost every attire. I wear my fedora with the brim slightly covering an eye… transpiring mystery, glamour and cosmopolitan chic...and my clients agree!
8. Quess who’s coming to dinner? (Name 6 real, fantasy or fiction women and imagine yourself at the ‘round table’ with them!)
My dearest mother, Grace Kelly, Michel Obama, Mmme. Coco Chanel, Oprah and my girly friend Diva (check her out at top side bar!). My guests are incredible women whom are profoundly inspirational to me, because they are true pioneers.
9. When there is Time-off-for-me”...
I dance. I practice Martial Arts Wing-Chun-streetstyle defense. For adventure; I go-off trekking in mountains.
For creative expression; I do dazzling winter ice skating and in the spring-time, roller blades. To stay in contact with the nature; I am driven by horseback riding and underwater immersions. And you will always find me in the kitchen whether in my home or in others preparing, healthy and exotic dishes from Vietnam and dark chocolate fondant desserts..of course!
10. My theme song is…
God Bless America!
11. What is my guilty pleasure? (Let your hair down, ladies)
A divine glass of Port and a delectable slice of dark chocolate fondant cake, to share with someone I love.
12. When I grow up I want to...
Dedicate myself to The-art-of-perfume-making. Thanks to my mother’s grace, I developed at a very young age the love and passion for perfumes. I will like to create an essence that recalls veiled flowers blooming in the summer breeze passing through my vintage style garden.

Have a wonderful weekend and week to come!
